Applications for participation in The International Hibla Gerzmava Opera Singers and Accompanists Competitionare are now open
On 1 March, applications for participation in The International Hibla Gerzmava Opera Singers and Accompanists Competitionare, the in-person round of which will take place from 12 to 25 January 2025 in Moscow, Russia, were opened. Applications for participation in one of the world’s largest classical music competitions can be submitted until 1 August 2024. Young musicians of two specialities — vocalists aged 21 to 36 and concertmasters aged 20 to 35 — are invited to take part.
The results of the selection round (at least 40 vocalists and at least 20 accompanists) will be announced on 15 October 2024. As before, travel and accommodation in the capital to participate in the in-person round will be paid by the competition’s organising committee. The applicants will be assessed by an expert jury comprising renowned directors, opera artists, top managers and vocal pedagogues. The jury will be headed by Hibla Gerzmava.
The project is implemented by the Hibla Gerzmava Foundation with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives. The general partner of the competition is the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Academic Music Theatre in Moscow.
